14-year old Freddie McBain lives in Essex in the UK. He has three interests in life - skateboarding, the weather and the Arctic Monkeys. (More on the Arctics obsession here: The Arctic Monkeys.)
Actually, he's only been skating for a few weeks and is just about getting to grips with his deck. To be honest, his Ollies are still complete pants.

Fortunately, there is one thing he's really good at - predicting the weather. This he can do with amazing accuracy. He beats the BBC, NBC and Sky TV weather bulletins hands-down. Tomorrow? Chucking it down, mate. Saturday? Chilly and overcast. Sunday? Sunny. Yeah? Yeah.
Freddie's not sure why he can do this. All he knows is that he's had the ability since he was a little kid.
As the story opens, he's been locked in his bedroom for the past week pouring over live satellite images of a hurricane heading towards the Florida coast. He's thinking that the hurricane looks a bit dodgy. In fact, just a few minutes ago, he could have sworn that its eye swivelled around and looked straight at him.
Er, paranoid. Or what?
Little does he suspect that a lot of really weird stuff is about to kick off and he's going to get caught up in the greatest adventure of his life.
Which is the last thing he needs - he's got a jam coming up in three days and he desperately needs to practice...
